Abstract:
National audience ; Cette présentation décrit des structures dans le lexique obtenues par la polysémie intégrée aux dérivations sémantiques. La notion de dérivation sémantique a été introduite par I. Mel'čuk et A. Zolkovsky dans les années soixante pour formaliser des relations récurrentes entre unités lexicales comme enseignement ↔ enseigner. Ce concept de dérivation sémantique est utile pour discriminer des acceptions d’une unité lexicale comme élever (des enfants) vs élever (des animaux). Dans cet exemple, le dérivé sémantique qui désigne l’actant 1 dans la première acception est nourrice. L’actant 1 est agriculteur dans la seconde acception. Le lexique wolof donne l'exemple de dérivations sémantiques zéro systématiques (conversions catégorielles) qui génèrent de la polysémie régulière intégrée à la dérivation sémantique, comme liggéey (V) ‘travailler, travailler qqun (jeter un sort)’ / liggéey (N) ‘travail, sort’. J’utilise cette malléabilité catégorielle pour décrire simultanément des verbes et des noms polysémiques reliés par une dérivation sémantique.Je décrirai la polysémie intégrée à des paires de dérivés sémantiques comme ragal (V) ‘avoir peur, avoir peur de qqun’ / ragal (N) ‘peur, peureux’,et à des familles de dérivés sémantiques comme bind (V) ‘créer, écrire’ / mbind (N) ‘écriture, texte magique’ / téere (N) ‘livre, gris-gris’ / àlluwa (N) ‘ardoise, savoir coranique’.Dans les quelques exemples que je donne, je souligne le rôle prépondérant de la conversion dans la structuration du lexique wolof.J’accorde une attention particulière aux conversions catégorielles et je discute la terminologie employée dans la littérature pour désigner ces unités verbo-nominales.
